Turquoise

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for around 43 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has many sturdy, slanted stems covered in very thick, knobbly, yellow bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, very narrow and elongated, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid brown or turquoise, with hazel patches, resilient and fuzzy.

In late spring it produces many medium-sized, subtle blue flowers with finger-like petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like fruity.


It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
