Silverleaf
Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its silver stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 4 and are thick and straight, and split into dozens of branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the large, brown leaves are needle-like with wavy edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
3 to 5 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with solid dull blue petals and a grey central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 18 curved petals. They are sturdy.
It has an intensely strong scent that smells like new carpet, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.
