Crimsonwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 43 meters (141.1 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3853 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, crooked trunk covered in cracked, brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is brown.

The small bunches of branches are short and thick, with thousands of twigs covered with sparse amounts of tiny, orange needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.

In late summer it produces large, crimson, shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
