Yellowvine

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is very thick and splits into many branching stems halfway up, and the tiny, yellow leaves are light brown on the underside and are long, tapering with irregular edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

6 to 12 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are generally dull yellow; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is largely flat with 48 widely spaced round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like pepper, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.
