Ripped Lime

This short fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 22 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in waxy, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is yellow-brown.

The numerous branches trail down to the ground and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, broad, flat leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are lime and peach.

In early spring, it produces dozens of small, subtle blue blossoms with wide petals. They are hardy and have a soft scent that smells like petrol.

In early winter it produces tiny, long, tapering fruit. The clammy brown skin is tough and spicy and sour, and the crunchy white flesh is spicy and syrupy. The blood red seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
