Turquoise Trumpetvine

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is thin and straight, and the miniature, orange leaves are spiral with serrated edges. 7 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are cream on the underside and turquoise on the top. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet with 9 widely spaced, narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a faint scent that smells like something putrid, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.
