Emerald

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This small cactus grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The very thick stem is emerald, and is covered in handfuls of rigid blood red spines. The wedge-shaped body is yellow-green, and is covered in thick bunches of flexible brown spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 20 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with solid peach petals decorated with silver lines and a olive central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 38 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. It has no scent.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the grey flesh is sticky, and the sky blue sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
