Lime Green Succulent

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 53 feet (16.2 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 5 stiff, pointed stems. Each stem is lime green, and is covered in handfuls of flexible beige spines.

It is slow growing, taking 17 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid faded orange petals decorated with purple lines and a copper central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 13 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has the faintest scent that smells like rotten meat.

The cactus's skin is thick, the brown flesh is leathery, and the dark grey sap is thin.

It is overwhelmingly resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
