Slatevine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its gray-green stems grow in bunches of 3 and are very thin and straight, and the small, caramel and emerald leaves are needle-like with smooth edges. 15 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Lots of tiny flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 8 cm (3.1 inches) wide, with solid slate petals decorated with blue lines and a gold central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 curved petals. They fall easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like pine needles, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by a variety of insects.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
