War Hand Fruit Tree

The small bunches of branches are very short and thick and are covered with small bunches of miniature, slender, pointed leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are grey on the edges and blood red at the center.
In early spring, it produces many large, pink blossoms with perforated petals. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like pepper.
In early winter it produces , finger-like fruit. The hairy azure skin is thick and bitter, and the slightly crunchy florescent red flesh is sweet and sticky. The silver seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
