Gray Moss

This gray moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In rainy mountain ranges.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly light.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
