Copperfruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 49 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, slanted trunk covered in thin, ridged, light brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The sparse amount of branches are short and thick and are covered with very large amounts of giant, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid red with copper streaks.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, dark brown blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are hardy and have a faint scent that smells like paint.

In early winter it produces , trumpet-shaped fruit. The rubbery florescent green skin is stretchy and inedible, and the very soft sky blue flesh is very sweet and dry. The light brown seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
