Crimson Vine

This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 48 feet (14.6 meters) and growing as high as 391 feet (119.2 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 2 years for the pink-red stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and remain soft and fleshy.

The wide, leathery leaves reach up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) in length. They are bronze on the edges and orange at the center, and have wavy edges.

During late spring, the vine produces a handful of small magenta flowers.
