Bluebell Sage
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 105 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has dozens of thick, twisting stems covered in fine, rough, dark green bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.
The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, circular, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are bright green and gold, fairly frail and fuzzy.
It produces hundreds of tiny, drab blue flowers with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like lavender. In midwinter it forms medium-sizedgreen, tough-shelled seeds.
