Burgundy Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This huge tree grows up to 133 meters (436.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 259 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, crooked trunk covered in delicate, smooth, burgundy bark, and inside, the hard wood is mahogany-coloured.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with handfuls of covered in fine hairs, small, wide leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in slate, amber and gold varieties.

In late summer it forms small, green, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
