Sunset

This small leaf succulent grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The slender, pointed stem is orange-yellow and hazel, and is covered in large amounts of fine, orange, hair-like spines. The jagged-edged, finger-like leaves are found in pink, orange and violet varieties. Sparse amounts of them grow from the base in tight-packed layers. The leaves are light and frail, but take some effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are olive in the center, beige in the middle and lime at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is largely flat with 39 raised round-tipped petals. It has a weak scent that smells like warm cookies.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the peach flesh is waxy, and the intense blue sap is thin.
