Bloodvine
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This short leaf succulent grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The tapering stem is red, and is dotted with small blood red spines. The slender leaves are copper and blood red. Large amounts of them grow on thick, gray branches that are short, rigid and upright. The leaves are sturdy, but easily come away when pulled.
It is slow growing, taking 26 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid aquamarine petals decorated with sky blue lines and a orange central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 7 years. The flower head is largely flat with 44 tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like rotten egg.
The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the gold flesh is sticky, and the olive sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
