Indigo Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized tree grows up to 23 meters (75.5 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 52 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, knobbly, brown and grey bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown.
The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with small amounts of leathery, tiny, needle-like leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are turquoise on the sides and indigo at the center.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, blood red, tough-shelled seeds.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
