Emerald Moor Moss

This gray-green moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On rotten logs, and In moorlands.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is extremely resistant; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
