Redstalk Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This massive, green grass grows up to 31 feet (9.4 meters) tall. The thin stalks grow in small clumps that are robust and they overwhelm an area rapidly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, brilliant red flower.

During the late summer, it produces very little pollen, and after flowering, it is left with lots of large grains.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
The grains are bitter, but very healthy and are suitable for boiling.
