Red Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In moorlands.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly resistant; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores.
