Green Trumpet Flower
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)This massive flower grows up to 12.3 feet (3.7 meters) tall. Its moss green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 6 and are thin and straight, and split into several branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the miniature, lime green leaves are very narrow and elongated with rounded edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
A single large flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 126 cm (49.6 inches) wide, with green petals and a brown central disk. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of 7 widely spaced, narrow petals. They are sturdy.
It has a powerful scent that smells like grass cuttings, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
