Crimsonseed Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 106 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in rough, dark green bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pine-coloured.
The branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with handfuls of clammy, giant, thick leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are generally green.
In late summer it forms giant, muted red, shelled seeds.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It can flourish even in standing water.
