Tricolor Floret

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)

This small flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is very thick, and the giant, yellow-green leaves are long, narrow with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Dozens of tiny flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 8 cm (3.1 inches) wide, with petals that are purple in the center, blue in the middle and gold at the edges. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 32 petals. They are very delicate.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like new books, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.

It commonly grows in large patches.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
