Crimson Succulent

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 29 feet (8.8 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is pink-red, and is covered in dozens of rigid cream spines. The ripped-edged, very thin leaves are pale red on the edges and cream at the center. Large amounts of them grow from the base in a random bunch. The leaves are light, and do not detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 18 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are cyan on the underside and brown on the top, grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 47 curved petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like warm milk.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the blue flesh is slimy, and the light brown sap is thin.
