Violetvine

This modest-sized tree grows up to 27 meters (88.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 501 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in smooth, dark gray bark, and inside, the soft wood is brown.

The excessive amount of branches are short stubs and are covered with large amounts of rough, large, asymmetrical leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in green, vivid blue and violet varieties.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, gold blossoms with fan-like petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an intense scent that smells like lavender.

In late summer it forms large, bronze, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
