Thickstem Willow
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized tree grows up to 23 meters (75.5 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 232 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a sturdy, curved trunk covered in very thick, smooth, light brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is gray.
The excessive amount of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of crispy, large, stiff, pointed leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are found in azure, grey and lime varieties.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, olive, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
The sap causes severe rashes
It is suitable for making strong rope
It commonly grows in large patches.
