Violetfruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 40 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, curved trunk covered in very thick, smooth, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is gray.

The abundance of branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with handfuls of small, slender, pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of violet that gradient shifts to aquamarine at the top.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of tiny, cyan blossoms with heart-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like rich perfume.

In early autumn it produces , wide fruit. The crispy violet skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy white flesh is sweet and very juicy. The white seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

The stems are covered in large spikes.
It is suitable for making paper
