Spinevine
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The wispy stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in many fine, lime, hair-like spines. The stocky, dark yellow trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter. Its emerald or cream branches are short, rigid and upright.
The wavy-edged, sickle shaped leaves are either gentle yellow, or violet with cyan splotches. They are resistant, but detach easily.
It is fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid dull orange petals decorated with amber dots and a hazel central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 46 curved petals. It has a weak scent that smells like skunk spray.
The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the sky blue flesh is slimy, and the caramel sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.
It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
