Ground Ivy Daisy
Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This average-sized flower grows up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) tall. Its green stem is wispy and straight, and the large, green leaves are perforated with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.
Each stem splits 2 to 7 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 47 cm (18.5 inches) wide, with beige petals on the lower layer and amber petals decorated with amber dots on the inner layer. The central disk is blue. The flower head is made up of 46 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight heart. They are hardy.
It has a delicate scent that smells like garlic, and it has lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.
The sap is edible and very bitter.
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
