Silver Spear Grass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This giant, silver grass grows up to 30 feet (9.1 meters) tall. The spear shaped stalks grow in thin clumps that are flexible and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, cyan tuft.

During the late summer, it produces copious amounts of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of giant grains.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
The bark is frequently covered in moss.
