Grass type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)This small, green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The stiff, pointed stalks grow in small clumps that are rigid and they overwhelm an area rapidly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, white spikelet.
During the early winter, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with lots of small grains.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
