Indigo Succulent
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This modest-sized cactus grows up to 65 feet (19.8 meters) tall. The tapering stem is lime green, and is covered in handfuls of flexible dark brown spines.
It is quick growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid copper petals and an indigo central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 47 widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like rotten meat.
The cactus's skin is tough, the cream flesh is soft, and the violet sap is thin.
