Bluevine

This enormous shrub grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for around 30 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has numerous thick, straight stems covered in thin, wrinkled, gray bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, very thick, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are blue and hazel, delicate and crispy.

In early spring it produces thick bunches of tiny, pastel orange blossoms with 8 oblong shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like petrol.

In early autumn tiny prism-shaped fruits ripen. The crispy vibrant blue skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy aquamarine flesh is sweet and very dry. The white seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.
