Bronze

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 77 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is black with white speckles.

The tangled mess of branches are very long and thin and are covered with small amounts of miniature, wide leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in blue and grey varieties.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, ashy red blossoms with long, narrow petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like lavender.

In early winter it produces tiny, long, tapering fruit. The crispy bronze skin is thick and bitter and sour, and the crunchy pale orange flesh is savoury and sticky. The caramel seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
It comes in 59 varieties.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
