Indigo

This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. Its orange-yellow stem is very thick and splits into 8 branching stems at the base, and the small, pink-red leaves are dark silver on the underside and are wide with ripped edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 1 to 5 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 44 cm (17.3 inches) wide, with solid indigo petals decorated with caramel lines and a sky blue central disk. The flower head is made up of 12 petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has the faintest scent that smells like cotton, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind and is ignored by most insect species.
