Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 47 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, wonky trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The small handful of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, spear shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in blue and grey varieties.

In early spring, it produces many balls of medium-sized, sky blue blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They fall easily and have a strong scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

In late autumn it produces , slender, 2 pointed fruit. The fuzzy lime skin is tough and inedible, and the crunchy pale orange flesh is spicy and very dry. The orange seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
