Speckled

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 78 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in delicate, silky, brown and grey bark, and inside, the hard wood is black with white speckles.

The tangled mess of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of smooth, large, thin leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are yellow and lime.

In late summer it forms tiny, bronze berries.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
