Silverfruit

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 46 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in hard, silky, silver bark, and inside, the soft wood is white with black speckles.

The excessive amount of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with thick bunches of small, spear shaped leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are bronze and peach.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, hazel blossoms with circular shaped petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like alcohol.

In early autumn it produces , slender, 2 pointed fruit. The clammy white skin is thick and edible when cooked; it is sweet and sour, and the soft grey flesh is overwhelmingly savoury and juicy. The olive seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

The bark is frequently covered in moss.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
