Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This average-sized cactus grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stem is gray, and is covered in dozens of fine, brilliant orange, hair-like spines.
It is quick growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with azure petals that gradient shift to lilac on the outer edge. The central disk is caramel, grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is largely flat with many widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like bonfire smoke.
The cactus's skin is rock-hard, the violet flesh is soft, and the blood red sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
