Golden Spine Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This average-sized cactus grows up to 46 feet (14.0 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is yellow-green, and is covered in sharp spines. The tear-shaped body is moss green, and is covered in hundreds of flexible yellow spines.
It is slow growing, taking 25 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are either caramel or gold, with a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 12 widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has an intense scent that smells like warm cookies.
The cactus's skin is thin, the violet flesh is smooth, and the orange sap is thin.
It is suitable for making strong rope
