Copper
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short caudiciform grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The wispy stem is orange, and is covered in handfuls of flexible copper spines. The wide, blood red trunk can grow to as much as 6 feet (1.8 meters) in diameter. Its burgundy branches are tall, rigid and upright.
The tattered-edged, asymmetrical leaves are light brown on the sides and red at the center. They are resistant, and take some effort to detach.
It is slow growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with each petal a slightly different shade of beige grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 14 curved petals. It has a weak scent that smells like rotten egg.
The caudiciform's skin is thin, the lime flesh is smooth, and the purple sap is thin.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
