Crimson Conifer

This giant shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 200 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many wide, straight stems covered in hard, waxy, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches are short stubs with dozens of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, finger-like, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are found in washed-out purple, crimson and crimson varieties, resilient and rough.

It produces many giant, crimson flowers with many layers of petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like glue. In midwinter it forms smallcaramel, spiky-shelled seeds.
