Caramellafern

This big caudiciform grows up to 79 feet (24.1 meters) tall. The very thick stem is muted green or black, and is covered in hundreds of fine, cream, hair-like spines. The thick, gnarled, caramel trunk can grow to as much as 79 feet (24.1 meters) in diameter. Its cream and dark brown branches are short stubs.

The toothed-edged, wispy leaves are silver with blood red tips. They are resilient, but detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are sky blue in the center, crimson in the middle and green at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a heart made up of dozens of widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like vanilla.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the caramel flesh is smooth, and the orange sap is thin.
