This yellow-green moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps On trees, and In bogs.
It is large, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is extremely flimsy.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
