Silver Sickleflower

This large flower grows up to 4.3 feet (1.3 meters) tall. Its silver stem is very thick, and the giant, copper leaves are sickle shaped with serrated edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Each stem splits 3 to 7 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 40 cm (15.7 inches) wide, with solid florescent yellow petals and a white central disk. The flower head is made up of 8 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. They are sturdy.

It has no scent, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
