Violet

Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its orange stem is thick and splits into 9 branching stems at the base, and the small, vibrant blue or indigo leaves are spear shaped with smooth edges. 8 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Many medium-sized flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are violet on the edges and peach at the center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 curved petals. They fall easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like coconut, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.


It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
