Burgundy Spore Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On trees, and In rainforests.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly sturdy.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release dozens of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
