Emerald Cupflower

This average-sized flower grows up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. Its emerald stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 8 and are very thick and straight, and split into many branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the large, brown leaves are very narrow and elongated with toothed edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Around 80 giant flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with green petals on the lower layer and yellow petals decorated with magenta dots on the inner layer. The central disk is yellow. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 51 raised, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like lavender, and it has lots of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
