Waterleaf

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized flower grows up to 11 inches (28 cm) tall. Its emerald stems grow in bunches of 6 and are thin and straight, and the huge, pink-red leaves are asymmetrical with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with crimson petals that gradient shift to magenta on the outer edge. The central disk is olive. The flower head is made up of 10 petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like fruity, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.

The leaves are excellent for making pulp fibers.
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
